How to Take Care of Your Toothbrush

Posted .

Did you know that brushing is vital to your oral health? Did you know that most dentists suggest brushing your teeth twice every day for two minutes at a time? Similarly, did you know that you should start brushing in a different part of your smile every day? However, while brushing properly is extremely important, did you know that it’s also important for you to care for your brush properly?

In fact, if you choose the wrong toothbrush, you might actually damage your pearly whites. Sadly, a brush with hard bristles could hurt your teeth or your gums. Brushing too hard can also have the same impact, even if you use a brush with soft bristles. Finally, please remember to replace your brush about once every four months. Still, you may also need to buy a new toothbrush after you’ve had a cold.

Similarly, did you know that you should also care for your brush properly? We suggest rinsing your toothbrush out with water after each use. You should also make a point of storing your brush upright in an open area where it can dry out. If you don’t, germs and bacteria could grow on your brush, which could ultimately leave you more vulnerable to tooth decay.
